Booking for International Mail
The complete mailing address should be accurate and neatly written / typed.
Telephone numbers of sender and addressee should also be indicated on the item to be sent.
Each item shall be packed and closed so as not to pose any threat either to the handling official or damage other mail / postal equipment / articles.
ITEMS CONTAINING GOODS / MERCHANDISE REQUIRING CUSTOMS INSPECTION
All international mail items are subject to Customs inspection and clearance and should satisfy Local Export Regulation’s and destination countries’ Import Regulations.
Each item containing goods or merchandise shall be accompanied by properly completed Customs declaration.
The contents of each such item shall be shown in detail on the customs declaration properly.
For the convenience of customers, it is advised to download CDS Mobile Application and create a declaration in it and write the ticket number generated on the Customer Declaration Form for quick processing of foreign articles.
CUSTOMS DUTY
Levy of Customs Duty on inbound International Mail articles is the responsibility of Pakistan Customs. Pakistan Post only collects the duty on behalf of Pakistan Customs. All the dutiable articles (goods) are examined by Pakistan Customs and Custom Duty according to the value of the goods is levied by them.
PROHIBITED ITEMS
Animal, arms / ammunitions, Explosives, Coins, Bank notes, Currency Note, Securities of any kind payable to the bearer, traveler cheques, platinum, Gold or Silver, precious Stones / Metals, other valuable articles/ Stamps, Pornographic Material, Passport, Hazardous or Composedly Material, Narcotic’s, Antique Blank Cheques, Blank Credit Cards, Gambling Devices, Radioactive material, perishables biological substances, infection substances, etc.
Prohibition laid down in Universal Postal Union can be found in the UPU Prohibition Compendium (prohibitions.ptc.post) and in the country specific list of prohibitions (https://www.cds.post/CDS.Web/Management/SearchRestrProhib.aspx) and shall apply to all international postal articles
